Funding Boost for Social Enterprises Print
Five organisations in the South and West Mayo area will benefit from a total allocation €51,090 through the Small Capital Grants Scheme for Social Enterprises. This is the largest allocation of funds made to any of the forty-nine Local Development Companies in the country.

Almost fifty applications were received by the company which were then assessed by the Department of Rural & Community Development.  The successful applicants were:-

Carrakennedy Community Playschool Repairs to roof of playschool building
€15,000.00
Carrowbeg Enterprises, Western Care Association Refurbishment and upgrade of kitchen and toilet areas in their centre €15,000.00
Mayo Academy of Performing Arts Chairs/Tables/ Acoustic wall panels, teaching whiteboards, Printer, Scanner, laptops, Kitchen units, Storeroom shelving, floor paint, reception desk and chair €15,000.00
Robeen Rascals Community Childcare Development of car park facility, new outdoor walls, repair to outside play area €4,500.00
Westport Social Services Purchase of new dishwasher, microwave and cooker and replacement of crockery €2,090.00
